1. Choose Your Preferred Blogging Platform

Choosing where you want to build your blog is pretty much the first thing you have to know. There are various types of blogging platform:

  • WordPress
  • Blogger
  • Tumblr
  • And so on…

WordPress is the platform I will recommend (I use wordpres for all my blogs and websites). It’s one of the biggest platform in the world with almost 82 million users. WordPress is free,  it’s very easy to set up, it enable easy interaction with people reading to your  blog and will WordPress you can get thousands of free themes

2. Domain Name And Hosting

Picking a domain name is quite simple, just pick a name that’s short, easy to remember (e.g. thetechperfectionist) and easy to spell

Hosting

Hosting is simply the company that stores all your blog files, put your blog up on the internet and deliver them to the user.

There are a lot of hosting company out there:

  • Bluehost
  • Hostgator
  • Godaddy
  • Dreamhost etc.

Note: choosing a bad host will literally kill your blog

3. Designing Your Blog

Designing your blog is simply customizing your blog appearance to look exactly how you want it. It’s highly recommend to design your blog in a way that reflect what the blog is all about. WordPress allows you to install free themes or you can buy a theme from a premium theme websites

4. Install Plugins

Plugins are software component that add a specific features to an existing computer program. There are hundreds of plugins (free) on WordPress they expand the functionality of your blog.

It’s not advised though to install plugins that are either doing the same function or that don’t add much value to the blog because they may tends to slow down your blog
